Software Support Associate

Position Available:
Financial Navigator, Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated individual to fill our Software Support Associate position. We develop and support financial software solutions for managing accounting and investment asset information for our clients.  You will work with the Software Support Team and customers to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve client issues regarding FNI software products.  You will also assist the Development Team with testing new versions of the software to validate bug fixes and evaluate functionality, as well as coordinating with clients to deploy new versions of the software.

Job Description:
As a member of the Software Support Team you will be responsible for:

  • Investigating and resolving client questions regarding functionality, installation, implementation, and best-practices for FNI software products.
  • Troubleshooting client issues related to user-error, software bugs, or hardware conflicts.
  • Communicating with clients over the telephone, e-mail or online forums to learn procedures followed and source of error.
  • Submitting bug reports to development team that can be re-created and substantiated.
  • Interacting with development team to explain software errors or recommend changes to software.
  • Testing new versions of software to validate bug fixes and enhancements.
  • Employing white-box and black-box testing using automated scripts and tools.
  • Coordinating with clients to deploy new versions and confirm software bug resolution.

Qualifications:
To be successful, you will likely have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical equivalent
  • Experience with: SQL Server databases, SQL, Microsoft Access; Windows 2000/2003/2005 Server and Windows XP/Vista
  • Ability to work in a start-up/small company environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team
  • team

Desired, but not required:

  • Experience with financial software
  • Experience with accounting concepts
  • Experience with transactional processing software

Financial Navigator is a small, rapidly growing, software firm based in Mountain View, CA that offers a challenging, professional, team-oriented work environment.  For full-time positions compensation includes competitive salary, bonus, benefits, and company 401K.
