Institute for Private Investors

Since 1991, Charlotte Beyer, the Founder and CEO of The Institute for Private Investors (IPI), has made it her mission to provide a place for wealthy families and their advisors to go for unbiased, relevant information and tools, as well as contacts and community — all focused on their unique needs.

The Institute for Private Investors (IPI) is a New York-based private membership organization that provides innovative educational and networking resources to families and advisors of high-net-worth investors. IPI offers regular member-only events in selected parts of the country where attendees receive in-depth information about investment issues and new ways to manage their family offices.

FNI joined the organization in 2000 and has enthusiastically participated in IPI events ever since. FNI participates on panels and co-chairs events designed to inform members about investing and reporting software tools. FNI has twice participated in roundtable sessions IPI calls "The Grill." FNI's CEO, Ed Van Deman has also co-chaired a seminar on technology for the family office and assisted IPI management in developing member surveys about IT requirements in a family office. Charlotte Beyer, CEO of IPI, spoke at an FNI user conference in 2001 about trends in family offices.

FNI's partnership with IPI is mutually supportive and shares many of the same principles. Both organizations have a strong appreciation for the importance of investor education. FNI and IPI both realize that because the investment management environment is constantly changing, it is critical for investors and their advisors to have high quality continuing education and contact with other private investors. IPI members also teach FNI about the issues, concerns and ideas of many of the industry's most prominent professionals who run family offices. As a result, FNI can provide a solution to issues raised by an IPI member before FN users have even addressed it.

In summary, IPI brings a rich source of information, insights and contacts that collectively enable FNI to continually make Navigator better for our clients.
