Whenever I print checks from a specified check printer, my windows default printer is changed to the check printer. How can I prevent this from happening?

When you print checks:

  1. Select Select Printer command button
  2. Select Printer with the correct check printer
  3. Select Always use this printer for checks
  4. Select OK
  5. BEFORE you print your checks make sure your Windows default printer is set to the printer you want
  6. Then print your checks

This set up needs to be done for each entity. Once you have set the check printing default printer and then the Windows default printer (prior to printing any checks), the next time you print your checks, the Windows default printer should remain as you originally set it.

We too are having this problem. We upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional from Windows 98. FN did not behave this way when we were running 98? Is there a compatibility issue with Windows 2000? (2000 has been out for a couple of years now!)

When you follow the steps listed in the previous post, you should not have the problem any more.

Please reply if you are still experiencing this problem.
