This problem has been addressed in the post: Printing checks changes Windows default printerFollow the steps in that forum post and your problem should be resolved.

As my colleague mentioned above, we are having problems with Financial Navigator defaulting to CFN even though Printer is selected and Always Use this printer is Checked. We reset it to the correct printer and then print checks....switch to another company print checks....switch back and its fine. However, it will sporadically switch back to CFN again... Any ideas?? Oh, the install is LAN based....

Let's try and isolate the problem:
- Are you on a network?
- Does this occur with every workstation?
- What Windows application are you using? (e.g. Windows 98, 2000)
- Do all workstations use the same Windows application?
- Does this occur in a particular entity?
- Did you follow each of the steps in the previous post in the link "Printing checks changes Windows default printer" for each entity?
- Can you isolate when the Windows default printer changes? (i.e. after using CFN in a particular entity?, after using CFN at a particular workstation?)

1. Yes 2. Yes, Windows 2000 Pro. 3. Yes. 4. Yes. 5. Yes. But the problem is with FN itself. Financial navigator periodically defaults to Check Form Navigator, even when we previously select Printer and Always use this printer. 6. Not worried about the Windows Default Printer, that's a given...

I believe there has been a miscommunication. The previous post dealt with the check printer being changed to the Windows default printer whenever checks were printed when the Windows default printer is a different printer than the check printer.Your problem is different, if I am now understanding correctly. Your problem is that you are selecting a different printer and the system is changing it back to Check Form Navigator option? You need to uninstall CFN (Check Form Navigator) if you are not using that program to print your checks.

Uninstalling CFN did not fix the issue.

After uninstalling CFN. Did you reboot?Did you go back into every entity you have and reset the printer settings to the correct printer and "Always use this printer". Each entity must be set properly. After setting each entity properly try and print checks from each entity. Then check the printer status after you print checks. Do all entities change back to the CFN setting, or is it just one? Try and isolate when the change back to CFN setting occurs.

We rebooted. We made certain each entity was set correctly. We checked printer status after printing a check from each entity. So far its just the one entity.

Verify that each workstation that issues checks has the correct printer settings as well.[This message has been edited by Pamela (edited 07-10-2002).]
