If it's just a small amount of information, the easiest thing to do would be to copy part of the report and then paste it into a spreadsheet or word processor. To cut and paste:
- Go to Report Selection.
- Select any report.
- Optional: select Options and configure the report exactly the way you want it.
- Select Screen.
- Select the part of the report you want to copy.
- To select the entire report, select Edit | Select All from the report menu.
- To select one or more rows, click on the gray area to the left of the first desired row. Then hold down the shift key and use the down arrow key to select as many rows as you wish.
- Copy the selection by selecting Edit | Copy.
- Open the destination file such as an Excel spreadsheet or Word document.
- In the destination application, select Edit | Paste.
If you wish to export an entire report, it's probably easier to export the file. You can easily make either a CSV file (which can be read by spreadsheet programs such as Excel) or an HTML file (which can be read by Internet browsers such as Netscape or Internet Explorer).
To export a file:
- Go to Report Selection.
- Select any report.
- Optional: select Options and configure the report exactly the way you want it.
- Select Screen.
- From the menu at the top of the report preview screen, select File.
- To make a CSV (spreadsheet) file, select Output to File.
- To make an HTML (internet browser) file, select Save as HTML
- Use the Save In drop down to select a folder in which to put the file.
- Type a name in the File Name box. (You don't need to include the .CSV or .HTM)
- Select Save
The resulting file can be saved to a floppy disk or e-mailed.
