You're on the right track; printing reports involves the RAM of your computer. It sounds like a 250-page report is larger than your RAM can handle. When windows gets low on resources it shuts down certain functions. Here are two things you can do to improve Windows' efficiency in printing such a large report:
- Be sure there is plenty of free disk space on the c: drive for spooling.
- Run scandisk to ensure there are no problems with the hard drive.
If possible, get more RAM. In the meantime, don't print the report directly to the printer.
- Go to Report Selection and select your report
- Select Screen
- Select File | Print
- Select a Print Range of a number of pages you've printed successfully in the past - in your case, use a range of 1 to 100.
- Repeat the process to print the rest of the report.
