I just upgraded online and now my printer will only print in landscape mode. My printer is a Lexmark z52. Any idea as to what the problem might be?

We have not heard of any problems with that printer, and we don't believe that this has specifically to do with 8.0.

First, check to see that the printer is printing properly. Try printing something in portrait from another application (such as Word, etc.) If you can't get anything in portrait, check your printer manual.

Second, check to see that your default printing orientation is set properly in FN:

  1. Go to Report Selection.
  2. Select Report Setup.
  3. On the Report Layout tab, make sure that Default Orientation is set to Portrait

What kinds of reports were you trying to print? Some "wide" reports (the Securities Portfolio Analysis, for example) have a hard time fitting on the page in portait. Try printing a "narrow" report such as the Summary Balance Sheet. If the Summary Balance Sheet comes out in portrait, then the other reports you have been trying to print must not be fitting on the page in portait. FN is automatically changing the report to landscape to make it fit.

If you want even "wide" reports to be printed in portait, check the Fit Report on Page settings as follows:

  1. Go to Report Selection.
  2. Select Report Setup.
  3. On the Report Layout tab, review the Use Smart Print to fit settings. Deselect Change to Landscape.

Also, check the Report Settings and make sure that the margins are set correctly.

  1. Go to Report Selection.
  2. Select Report Setup.
  3. On the Margins tab, review the margins settings. Left and right margins should be set to 0", top to 1.2", bottom to 0.8"

Please let us know if these steps don't work. If you have further questions, please come back to this topic, hit "Post Reply" and enter your question.
