When printing a report in Financial Navigator 8.04, on a Windows 2000 Professional desktop, we receive Error 5, Invalid Procedure...We click OK and it closes Financial Navigator. This is a network installation, and so far, only happens to one user(even after reinstall)..

This problem appears when you click on Reports, Select Transaction Entries, Transactions with Distributions, Checking and the Account(only one account with transactions)for the period of January -February. Should I uninstall FN on the client in question and reinstall?

Does this also happen to other entities/data files on the same computer?

In order to make sure the problem does not exist with the data, try the following.

  1. Back up your data files to a floppy or other removable medium. Keep in a safe place.
  2. Install the latest update to FN 8.0 by running Software Update. See post Workstation install vs. full install for more information.
  3. Now try running this same report.

Next, try testing and correcting the data.

  • From the main FN menu, select Utilities | Test and Correct Files | All of the Above
  • Make note of any corrections the system makes.
  • Now try running this same report.

Lastly if the problem persists uninstall and re-install FN from the client's computer.

If this does not solve your error reply to this message.

It happens to one workstation and in other entities not just one...other users have no problem with the same entities...
