Am trying to pull up reports for taxes and am having trouble pulling up report with a specific qualifier. All of our names begin with a J. So when Ii pulled up div inc/jimtrust, it also pulled all the dividends for JAT, JRT, etc and I want the ones ONLY for jim trust. Any suggestions to get it in a more pure form without changing our names! Thanks Jo Ann

Hello Jo Ann. I’ll need a little more information to better understand your scenario.

1. What version of FN are you using?
2. What reports are you trying to view for the Jimtrust qualifier?
3. When you use the qualifier Jimtrust, what are the other qualifiers that appear on your report? Are “JAT” & “JRT” the full names of your other qualifiers? If not, could you list the full names of these other qualifiers?

In the meantime, the answer you are looking for might already be posted in the topic Qualifiers and Wildcards. You can also search the Financial Navigator help file for the topic Advanced Account Qualifier Features for more information.

I think I have the same problem. Let’s say we have accounts ending with /284, /284A, /284B, /284C in FN. In a qualifier table I have only /284. If we run a report with this qualifier table which only includes 284, we get 284 plus 284A, 284B , 284C that means all letters followed by 284 are showing up on the report. What can I do to exclude all letters and get only /284?

You can’t specify /284 and get only the accounts with just 284. You should have something in the fourth position on each qualifier. Perhaps use X as a placeholder and change the ones with just /284 to /284X.
