I get a renewal notice for my financial navigator more than a month in advance. How do I decrease the time frame on this notice?

If you want to change the default notification on your renewal (expiration notice), change the settings on each workstation. There are two ways to do this; choose the method that's easiest for you:

A: Edit the fnwin.ini file in the Windows System folder by added the line DaysWarning=30 as explained below.

or

B: Edit the workstation settings in FN:

  1. Back up your data files.
  2. Select Help |About Financial Navigator and type "t".
  3. Select OK.
  4. Select Options | View Workstation Settings.
  5. In the section [Financial Navigator] add the line
DaysWarning=30 (or what number of days warning you want).
  6. Save file, and exit.

Both these methods change the reminder period for the workstation that you edit the file. So some workstations could be short, such as 5 days, and they would not get the notice until right before it expired. Just make sure that someone that does use FN on a constant basis does get a notice early so that there is no interruption in your ability to use the program!

If you have add-on modules you may get remeinder messages from them also. Add the line DaysWarning=30 as explained above to the [CheckForm] section to to change the CheckForm reminder period. Unfortunatly, there is currently no way to change the period for the other modules.
