I got a new computer. The technician moved FN files from one folder to another. Now whenever I choose Fn I get the window that asks if I am ready to set up a new file? If I cancel out of that window then I can choose one of the entities that is set up already. How do I get rid of the initial new file set-up window?

It sounds like Navigator is stating in a folder that has no data. One of these three things should fix that:
  • Verify the starting entity in your desktop shortcut. See How do I start FN with most-used data files? You can specify one entity that you use the most. Or, you can specify nothing, in which case Navigator will always start with the Open screen. See Opening data folder when FN starts if you want the Open screen to display the folder where your data is located.
  • In Navigator, uncheck Options | Open Recently Used File.
  • Make sure there are no “lost” data files in your Navigator program folder. See “Data in the FN program folder” in Cannot open FN. There are other suggestions in that topic also.
You have already installed Navigator on the new computer, but you might want to review Cloning single computer install

This might also be a good time to review your file organization:

If your new computer uses Windows Vista, also review Please reply to let us know what works. If you need more information, reply with more details (Operating system, network or single-user install, path to Navigator program, path to Navigator data).

Thanks. I changed the Target to C:\Program Files\FN\xyx\ and it works--Navigator starts with the Open screen on C:\Program Files\FN\ and dispalys all the data folders.
