I'm confused about when I should do a Full Install and when to do a Workstation Install.

If you are installing Navigator on only one computer, not on an office network, always do a Full Install.

If you are on a typical office network with the Navigator program folder on the server and each user's desktop computer (we call them "workstations") connected to the server, here's the rules:

  • First install or reinstall: Do Full Install from any workstation
  • Install or reinstall to additional workstations after Full Install done: Do Workstation Install on each workstation. You don’t need to do a Workstation Install on the workstation on which you did the Full Install.
  • Software Update: Do Full Install from any workstation. This updates the .ext on the server for all workstations.
Note that you never need to install directly on the server. Everything is done from the workstations.

Note that in all network install cases the installation path is to the Navigator program folder on the server, never to the local workstation C: drive.
