I don't recall from the AUC whether or not there is a way to restrict new users. I want her to have access to entering transactions, printing checks, review Transactions by Account, payee, etc. but NOT to be able to view Income Statements or Balance Sheets. Is there an easy way to implement this? If possible, I'd appreciate some feedback today as we're tentatively scheduled to meet tomorrow. Thanks! ------------------

This feature is not currently available in the program. Currently all users have access to all features of the program. Two different techniques for restricting access to the data were discussed at the Annual Users Conference (AUC) in July, 2001 - Allowing the user to establish password levels that allow another user to only view data.
- Giving the ability to assign duties by person and control this with passwords.
These are excellent ideas that are being considered for future versions of Financial Navigator. ------------------ Renée Trudeau Financial Navigator Int'l Manager, Technical Services

As you requested, you can now restrict new user access and much more. Financial Navigator version 8.2 introduces new security features that allow you to control who can access what data and operations. You do this with User Profile Management. With User Profiles, a Financial Navigator Administrator can: - Limit access to sensitive information.
- Create checks and balances within the system.
- Close months, preventing fraudulent entries or changes to reconciled data.
- Disperse knowledge on a need to know basis.
Financial Navigator 8.2 is currently available to all users as an Early Release version. It will be shipped automatically to all FN 8.1 users with Annual Maintenance when it is released into production. If you would like to start using this latest version now, please contact Customer Service.- David FNI Support [This message has been edited by fni_support (edited 06-20-2005).]

Navigator has a “time log” feature that records who accesses what entities for how long. It is designed more for billing than security, but it may fit your needs. Search Navigator help for “time log” for more information.Sample log: "FINANCIAL NAVIGATOR USER NAME "," DATE ","TIME "," OPERATOR/JOB NUMBER ",YR,MO,BATCH,TRANS,DUR "Dewey & Vera Goode ","Oct 25 05","10:05","1234 ",05,11, 483, 0, 0 "Dewey & Vera Goode ","Oct 25 05","10:05","1234 ",05,11, 483, 0, 0 - David FNI Technical Support
