When trying to begin a new year I go through the prescibed steps and get the following error message on the last step: "Run time error 9" followed by the message "Subscript out of Range." I have tried several times and obviously have a problem. What do I need to do to begin a new year and correct my problem?

Please provide the information:

  1. What version of FN are you using? (8.0.8, 8.1.1)
  2. What edition of FN are you using? (Personal, Standard Office, Professional Office)
  3. What Windows application are you using? (98, 2000, XP)
  4. Have you recently made any changes to your computer?

Error 9 is usually associated with bad data.
Run the Test & Correct Utility and see if you get any messages relating to your data.
See the post Test and Correct Utility for more information.

You may need to rebuild your Account Index. See the post Rebuild Account/Payee Index.

If your problem is not resolved, reply to this post with the above information and the steps and exact error message you received when beginning a new year.

Reply to my Post of 12/27 asking for version information: I am using FN8.0.8, Personal edition, Windows XP, with no recent changes to computer. I continue to get the error message 9 and "Subscript out of Range"

Did you run the Test and Correct Utility? Were there any corrections made?

Did you rebuild your account index?

If you did not, run both utilities and then reboot your computer.

If this does not resolve your problem, please reply to this post with the step where you get the error message and the exact wording of the error message.
