My professional technician installed my 8.11 on my new Dell computer last week. It appears that old data (from 7.0)is more or less intact, but when I try to enter the year 2003 Chart of Accounts, I get a persistent message 70 and a popup saying "duplicate account names" or something. The Chart of Accounts, once I manage to get past this, is clearly fragmented and mangled. I tried "start the year over" but was unsuccessful. I do have hard copies of starting balances as of Jan 1, 2003 and Chart of Accounts. So far, my new 8.11 software is useless to me.

Hello, thank you for posting. From your description of the problem it sounds like you are experiencing error 35601 or 35062 – Duplicate Account names in the Chart of Accounts. Refer to the previous topic(s) Error 35062 and Run-time 35601 for more information on how to resolve this issue. In short, you will need to determine the duplicate account name and then delete it. If the problem isn’t related to Error 35062 or 35601 then please reply to this topic with the complete error message that you receive when trying to access the Chart of Accounts. -------------------------------------------- George Financial Navigator Int’l
