What you describe will typically occur if you have transferred amounts between accounts using the “direct” method instead of using a Transfer Clearing Account. Because the “direct” transfer method does not create an entry in the opposite accounts ledger, the running balance and monthly activity will not agree.

If you have done transfers between accounts using the direct method, undo these transactions and use a Transfer Clearing Account instead.
