I use a Dell 4550 with 1.6 ghz, 256 mem, 40 gig hard disk and high speed internet. I converted to 8.1 FN because of Windows XP.XP has given me fits with other application programs and I wonder if that is not the problem with FN 8.1?
In the hiatus between 1996 and 2003 I have decided to create a new year for each intervening year without entering the actual data until I get to the year 2003 for which I will enter the actual financial data, that is to say the numbers from the beginning of the year 2003. The payors, the payee’s, the addresses, the chart of account, the check writing etc are all pretty much the same and this will save an inordinate amount of time necessary to re-create the above.
As a start, I attempted to do so from 1996 to 1997 and at that point when I go into the "balances" for a specific item i.e. an A/R for instance and this is true for all accounts, to get the following error message:
Out of memory(Error #7)
Reduce the number of programs running.
In line 4510
Using file:
Retry cancel
Additionally I get the problem of being unable to get out of the error message above and in fact was did not have any other pgms open.
When I have the opportunity I can go back and fill in the basic information in the years started before 2003, provided I can get past the problem of the errors noted above. And if you’ve seen this problem before, perhaps you can advise if there are other problems that I need look out for in moving forward to the year 2003?
Thank you for your kind attention and help in this matter.
