FN needs to write to the user2.dat file that is in your data folder. If it cannot, it may revert to the c: drive as you describe. If you are trying to access FN data located on a network, perhaps you do not have write privileges to the file. Ask you network administrator to ensure that you can write to all the files in your FN data (and program) folders.
Another possibility is that the user2.dat file is corrupted. Contact FNI support for assistance in restoring the file.
