Another fact to consider is the message “changes in account balances/transfers" might be correct for the report being viewed. If a transfer was made into this account from another account without using the transfer clearing account as an intermediary then that message is correct.The reason for this is when you transfer funds from one account to another account using the transfer clearing account you create two transactions, one from the charitable account and the other to the receiving account. I.e. 1) Charitable Account to Transfer Clearing Account, 2) Transfer Clearing Account to Receiving Account. If you transfer funds from one account to another without using the transfer clearing account you have only one transaction. I.e. 1) Charitable Account to Receiving Account. In this case you see the entry in the charitable journal but not in the receiving journal; only the balance is affected in the receiving journal.
Because there is no transaction in the receiving journal the transactions won’t add up to the balance, thus causing the “change in account balance/transfer to appear.
Run transaction by account from the contributing journal to verify the facts above. When you do this you should not have the message “changes in account balance/transfer” appear.
