When beginning a new year, in the “Begin a New Year - Options” screen select “Save Uncleared Transactions”. If this option is not selected your outstanding transactions from the prior year will not be carried over. This is a critical option to select, if you don’t select it, there is no way to later add the uncleared transactions to your reconciliation. If you must have them, you will need to go through the new year setup process again.

Also, if you started a new year with the prior year transaction cleared. Then you go back to the prior year and change the transaction to uncleared it will not reflect in the new year books.

Finally, if you checked the “Save Uncleared Transactions” option, and start the new year your transactions will appear in the new year. If you accidentally cleared one, when it was not cleared, it will not appear on the reconciliation report. In FN 8.2 if you want to view the transactions after it is cleared, from the enter transaction screen go to: Tools | Transaction Activity Options | Cleared Transactions in Reconcile | check this box. Now your cleared transactions along with outstanding transactions from the prior year will appear in the reconciliation screen.
