I have been receiving the above error message once I start FN 8.2 (which I recently upgraded from FN 8.1). It occurs directly upon accessing the "Enter" key to begin use and enter data. The actual message reads: ERROR : 35601, Element not Found in Change Function. ABORT - RETRY - IGNORE. I hit RETRY and the message disappears and I am able to input data and operate, what appears to be, normally.

My operating system is Windows XP, and I have never had an error message appear before after installing a new version or upgrade.

Please advise.

Run Test & Correct Files | Account Alphabetical Index. A message should appear stating two accounts with the same name. From the Accounts menu, select Change or Delete Account Names. Enter one of the account numbers (or enter the name and the list will popup and then select one of the duplicate account names). Change the name to something different. Now try going to the Chart of Accounts. It appears the chart accounts category names have been lost; possible from updating to FN 8.2.
If that is the case then you will need to rebuild the Chart of Account index. First Backup your data files! Now put FN in Test mode, from the FN Desktop | Help | About Financial Navigator… | then double click on the FN logo, the system will prompt you set to Test mode, click OK. Close these windows and return to the FN Desktop.
Now go to Utilities | Test & Correct Files | Rebuild Account Index. Also Rebuild Chart of Account Files.
Please reply to this post if you have any more questions.

Thanks,
Matthew
