By default, Financial Navigator wants to look for files in your C: drive. Since you don't have one, we must designate an opening location. You cannot change this during the installation screen but must do this after FN is installed. On the FN shortcut which is on your desktop, right click on it and select Properties.
A new window will open and you will see a box next to "Start In". Enter In the location where the Sample data was installed. Be sure you have quotation marks around the entry.
For example, it could be: "E:\Program Files\FN\Sample". This should open up Financial Navigator into the sample data.
Go to File and select Clear Recently Used Files.
Next, open a set of entities files which you would normally use.
Immediately after opening them, close Financial Navigator.
Go back to the desktop with the shortcut and again, right-click and select properties. Change the "Start In" location to the folder where FN is installed, such as "E:\Program Files\FN". Select OK when finished.
Reopen Financial Navigator and it should now work.
