When I run income or cash flow reports, the amounts in the Last Year column don’t agree with the amounts in last year’s actual data.

This can happen for a couple reasons:- Navigator data from one year does not “talk” to the data in another year. Except when you Update Starting Balances or Begin a New a Year, any changes in the prior year have no effect on the next year. Even Update Starting Balances has no effect on the amounts in the Last Year column, only on starting balances. So if you make changes to the prior year, those changes will not be reflected in the current year.
- When you start a new year, you choose to set the new year’s budget to the budget from last year or the actual amounts from last year. Last year’s actual amounts are not stored in the current year’s data separately. When you run reports, you can choose Budget or Last Year. This refers to the column headings only. The data is always the same: the current year budget amounts. That will only be the same as the prior year’s actual monthly balances if 1) you chose Last Year when you started the year and 2) you haven’t manually changed the budget amounts (Accounts | Budgets for Accounts).
