Name for Net Worth or Equity
The name used by Financial Navigator to identify the total of equity section of a report. The system automatically uses Net Worth when you select an "Individual, Trust, or Estate" chart of accounts, and Equity when you select a "Business or Other Organization" business chart of accounts.

Name for Net Income or Retained Earnings
The name used by Financial Navigator to identify the accumulated earnings section of a report. The system automatically uses Net income when you select an "Individual, Trust, or Estate" chart of accounts, and Retained Earnings when you select a "Business or Other Organization" chart of accounts.

Since your statements were showing "retained earnings," the data must have been initially set up as business. This is done when the data is first set up. If you later go to File | Change Entity Name and change personal to business or vice versa, it will have no effect on the equity section. You must do it with Accounts |Equity Name Changes as described above.
