I have been a FN user for severeal years and begain using FN 8.1 in 2003. At the time, 8.1 contained a report called "statement of Financial Condition" a comparative balance sheet showing the current month data in comparison to the prior year end balances. I successfully produced this report using FN 8.1...until now.
Recently, at the suggestion of one of your tech reps, I downloaded the "updates" and now have FN 8.1.4. And when I attempted to use the system to produce a series of reports including the comparative balance sheet, I found it had been removed! The elimination of this report was confirmed to me by one of your customere support reps. I understand FN systems costing several thousand dollars have this report.
The purpose of this message is-
1. To advise you that I view the absence of a comparative balance sheet report a serious deficiency in FN. This report contains data which is key to understanding one's financial condition and trends with respect thereto. And that data is not available in other reports. No one who understands financial analysis and financial management would make such a change.
2. Second, I'd like instruction on how to get my report (comparative balance sheet) back. I was unable to do so through the custom report feature, but maybe you can instruct me how to do it. If that's not possible, can I uninstall FN 8.1.4 and reinstall my original FN 8.1 which has this report? Whatever the other enhancements contained in FN 8.1.4, they are not worth the loss of the key comparative balance sheet report. (If this means that the comparative balance sheet will be lost in future "upgrades", then, to me, it makes future upgrades undesirable.)

Hello, thank you for posting your question. With the release of FN 8.1, the Statement of Financial Condition report is no longer available in the Personal Edition. The Personal Edition version 8.1 does not contain the Statement of Financial Condition report and therefore your Software Update to version 8.1.4 had no effect in this regard. The Software Update does not remove any reports from the Personal Edition. In fact, the Software Update adds two reports back to the Personal Edition: 12 month cash flow & Summary Account Balances.
