I found a checking account that was entered in the checking and in the savings/money market accounts. I need to send the beginning balance back to net worth since it was taken out twice. I do not find a net worth category/account. Is that because it is only used in the reports? I know I need to add the money back into owners equity but I am not sure how to go about it because I am not sure what entries they used to get money out of net worth into each account that was set up.

Net worth is a calculated amount. It is simply assets minus liabilities. There is no direct way to change it.

One thing you might try is to change retained earnings. Go to Accounts | Equity Name Changes to change this. This might be appropriate since it sounds like the error occurred in a prior year.
