I have started my 2001 year and find that the files for the 4 entities that I have are located adjacent to the year 2000 file of the corresponding entity . In previous years all files of the four entities were adjacent to each other, a much more convenient situation. Is it possble to move files in the " Open " screen and , also, how does one delete an entity that has no data which shows up on that same screen

1) You can move the folders to any location you want. This can be done in Windows Explorer. In FN you can do it with File | Save As also, But this will create a copy of the data files instead of just moving them.

2) Deleting an entity where data files do not exist can be done several ways but for the easiest way see message at Deleting entities for one method.
This method will work for all version of FN. The menu choices for File | Change Entity Name is Change Report Titles in FN 7.0 and earlier.

The entities are showing up differently because the new version automatically saves the prior year and starts a new year. If you have no need for the prior years to be active, backup them up and delete as indicated above. I personally like keeping all prior years available on my hard drive.

You can also use the File screen,as opposed to the OPEN icon, which will keep your most recently used files active. If you are only using those four entities, they will show up together.
Another possibility is to set up icons on your desktop for the four entities that you use. You can do this this through Windows.
