I have 3 entities, but I use one much more than the others. How do I configure FN so that it starts with the entity I use most? Right now it starts with one entity I hardly ever use and it's inconvenient to have to swap to the files I want to use.

Go to Options | Open Recently Used File and verify that it is not checked. If it is, select it and the check will go away. This means that FN will not automatically open with the last file you used. Now go to the Windows Desktop and find the desktop shortcut (icon) you use to start Financial Navigator.
- Right-click on the icon and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
- On the Shortcut tab, review the contents of the Target field. This field should contain the complete path to the location of your FN program file, a space, and the complete path to the files you wish to start the program with. For example, Target may contain the following:
C:\fn80\fnwin80.exe c:\fndata\jones.00\ This means that the program file is located in c:\fn80 and the data files you wish to use frequently are located in c:\fndata\Jones.00 Please note that the space in between the two is very important!
- Select Apply to save these changes.
- The next time you start FN it will open with the JONES.00 files.

Also see the User Forum post How to open default file when starting Navigator? for more information about the default location to look for Navigator data. The instuctions above are for Navigator 8.2 and earlier. For Navigator 9.0 and later, see How to open default file when starting Navigator? also. - David FNI Support [This message has been edited by David (edited 07-21-2008).]
