The ACT2.dat file is extremely large and backs up slowly. It requires several diskettes.
What is the problem?

Due to a problem in previous version, the act2.dat or pay2.dat file could get expanded during the begin a new year process when deleting unused accounts or payees.
This problem does not exist in the current version FN 8.0.

Solution:
If this situation exists then reduce the number of accounts for act2.dat file or number of payees for the pay2.dat file.
Select Utilities | System Reconfiguration | Change File Sizes. Enter the Allocated Number of Accounts or Payees so the number is less than the current allocated number. This will force the file to be copied to the correct size. (Increasing the number will not force the file to be copied. It will just be increased in place.)
