When I went to back up 2005 financial files, I did not back them up correctly. When I started the new year, I did not do this correctly. When I tried to recover off the back up I saved over the back up the wrong files. My entire 2005 year is wiped out and completely blank. I started a new year for 2005 with 2004. How can I recover

Dear Keatscon,

Thank you for your posting. Unfortunately, Financial Navigator is unable to recover data which has been overwritten, deleted, or is otherwise lost from a computer.

Do you have any other backups or is the data stored on a server? If you are part of a larger corporation, many IT departments conduct regular backups of data and may have a recent copy of the data.

Another option maybe to also use a data recovery service. These services can often recover data which has actually been deleted or lost from a failed harddrive. Their services are very expensive however and there is no guarentee on obtaining a complete recovery.

If none of these options are available, then I'm afraid reinputting your data is the only choice left.

Regards,
