We run reports for investment analysis for individuals, small partnerships and trusts. We would like to see all assets (including checking, partnerships, securities, etc.) and liabilities on one report indicating the categories that are on the SPA. In order to do that, we have coded all of these accounts as marketable securites in these small entities. Obviously this has created some program integrity problems - i.e. - when trying to print checks in an account that is coded marketable securities and not checking - check numbers are not generated. Any suggestions?

For checking accounts that you want to see on the Securities Portfolio Analysis, use the format Broker Cash Account (44).

For a list of all format types that appear on the various Investment Reports (including the Securities Portfolio Analysis), go to Help and look for "Marketable Securities Format Types" in the index.

In order to get liabilities to appear on investment reports, the liability must have a marketable security format type (other than "sold asset").

Also note that if a "sold date" appears on the Asset & Liability Information screen, the account won't appear on the Security Portfolio Analysis, no matter what format type is selected.

Actually securities with a Sold Date will appear on reports if the report date is prior to the sold date. The Market Price will be zero but the subtotals for balances, yields, etc. will be correct. See Security Portfolio Analysis thoughts.
