Some of my sold securities still show up on some reports. It isn’t even consistent—some show up on one report, others don’t show on that report but are on other reports. Doesn’t make any sense. One sold account is on the Security Portfolio Analysis report but not on the balance sheets. Another sold account is on the balance sheets but not on the Security Portfolio Analysis report.

Great question. There are a number of things that determine whether a sold security is listed on a report. The most common reasons for sold accounts to appear are:- Report is for any month prior to when the security was sold
- Format Type is not Sold.
- Balance is not zero.
Generally, for Navigator to consider a security sold, the Asset & Liability Info screen should show:- No balance in the report month.
- Sold date same as the report month or prior to the report month.
- Format type is Sold.
Different reports may look at different combinations of these fields:- Check the Asset & Liability Info screen to verify all three of these fields are correct.
- Compare the sold date to the report date.
- Verify the balance is zero on the report date.
You can tell Navigator to list sold securities. Select Options | Sold This Year on the Report Selection screen. Some reports like the Security Portfolio Analysis will show "S" to indicate the security has been sold. The Current Portfolio Analysis report is unique. The date at the top of the report is the date that you last used when you entered prices to update securities. The report uses this evaluation date to determine if a security should be listed. If the security’s sold date is after the evaluation date, the security appears on this report. Note that the month you select for the Date Range on the Report Selection screen has no effect on this report. Also note the evaluation date could be any day in the month, not necessarily the last day of the month. To change the evaluation date: - Select Investments | Enter Prices to Update Securities (or use PriceLink or StockWeb to download prices).
- Enter the date of the last evaluation.
- Select OK.
- Proceed to update prices or select Close to exit without actually changing prices. Note that if you don’t update prices, the evaluation date is changed but the prices may be for a different date.
