I went back to my 2000 file and created a new receivable account in chart of accounts
and then recorded an entry to that account.

I then went into my 2001 file and ran the utility to update beginning balances. It gave me an error message that the account was not in 2001 so the file would not be updated. I tried manually entering in the new account in 2001, but it assigned a different account number to it. How can I fix the problem so that my 2000 entry is reflected in 2001?
