I want to restart new year (2003). I neglected to restore all the changes made on a different computer for 2002. I started the new year on my computer and deleted a lot of accounts.
To get the changes in, I restored my info in 2002, then went to restart new year. The screen came up asking which balances you want to use, but the delete accounts area was unavailable. I then tried to restart new year in the 2003 account, but that was going to restart 2004.
How do I get my corrected "End of Year 2002" into my new 2003 account. Can I delete the whole 2003 account in Windows Explorer and start it over that way?

Hello, thank you for posting.

With regards to your question:

How do I get my corrected "End of Year 2002" into my new 2003 account. Can I delete the whole 2003 account in Windows Explorer and start it over that way?

If you would like to start a new set of 2003 data from your current 2002 data then run the “Begin a New Year” utility from your 2002 data. You can use this utility to delete your existing 2003 data and start 2003 from scratch. It will backup your 2002 data files into a folder and then create a new set of 2003 data files with starting balances equal to your 2002 ending balances. It will also give you the option to “delete unused accounts” so that they won’t have to be included in your new 2003 data.

You can chose to overwrite the existing 2003 data when you run the “Begin a New Year” utility from the 2002 data. Your 2003 data will be completely erased and then re-built from your 2002 accounts. Make sure this is what you want to happen. Any entries you’ve made in your 2003 data will be deleted. Please see the “Beginning a New Year” topic in the FN help file or your user guide for more information.

Let us know if this doesn’t answer your question.
