We BNY for 06 and while still cutting some checks at year end 05. So there are additional uncleared checks in 05 that did not get carried forward at BNY.

Enter 2 new transactions in the new year:

1. One transaction for the 2005 check with the status of Outstanding.

2. The other transaction is an offsetting deposit that is Cleared. Both transactions are for the same amount and using the same account(s).

As a result, no balances are affected since the two transactions offset each other. The outstanding check will now appear during Reconcile. Use the same date for both transactions and descriptive memos for your records.
