Please explain how I get rid of two entries brought forward to the new year that I voided in the previous year after I rolled to the new year.

How you delete an entity from the list of entities depends on whether you still have an entity-year folder for that entity. Note that deleting the entity from Navigator’s entity list also deletes the data files for that entity-year and also deletes the entity-year folder. So be sure to back up the entity in Navigator (or backup the entity-year folder) just in case you ever need the data again.

Each entity has entity-year folders, one for each year. All the data files for an entity for a year are in its entity-year folder.

Navigator keeps a list of the entities you are using. Your license limits the number of entities on the list. To view the list, select File | List Entities. When you delete an entity from the list of entities, you can add another entity to replace it.

If an entity-year folder is still on your computer for the entity you want to delete, it’s easy to delete it:

  1. Backup the data files in case they are ever needed in the future. When you delete the entity from Navigator, the data for that entity is erased
  2. Open any other entity in Navigator
  3. Select File |Delete from the main Navigator desktop.
  4. Select the entity folder to be deleted.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Navigator asks if you want to delete the specified data files. Select Yes.
  7. Navigator verifies you want to delete the specified data files. Select OK.
  8. Navigator requests verification to remove data files folder. Select Yes.
  9. Navigator verifies files have been deleted. Then Navigator asks if you want to delete the entity name from the entity list. Select Yes.
  10. Navigator confirms entity file name deleted from the entity list.

If you have already deleted the entity’s folder and data from your computer, it’s more complicated. Please see:
