When I began a new year, I selected Inactivate Sold Investment Accounts. Mostly that worked as expected. But when I look at the Chart of Accounts, there are a few accounts with Format Type "Sold Stocks" listed as active accounts. Conversely, there a few accounts with Format Type "Common/Preferred Stocks" that are inactivated. Why? I am using Navigator 9.0 Version 8.9.235

I'm not sure why the "Sold Stocks" are still active. Check back here later for an answer. Meanwhile, you can manually activate the account by clearing the year from Active To in Chart of Accounts. The accounts with Format Type "Common/Preferred Stocks" that appear to be inactivated in error probably have a Date Sold on the Asset & Liability Info screen. Navigator looks at the Date Sold, not the Format Type, to determine if it is a sold investment to inactivate. Review your prior year transactions and you will probably see that the Format Type should be "Sold Stocks." If so, change the Format Type. - David FNI Technical Support
