We have upgraded our operating system to windows 1998. We are a peer to peer network. We have been using checkform navigator without problem on a shared printer.

Since the installation, the second station can print all navigator reports but not checks.

We have reinstalled checkform navigator 3.0 on the second station (Print Port "file LPT1"). Why can we only print checks on the first station?

If the printer is a network and not the local printer then the printer port needs to be captured and redirected to the network printer.

From the work station, select Start | Settings | Printers. Right click on the printer and select Properties. On the Details tab, select Capture Printer Port. Set the Device: to the port set when CFN was installed such as LPT1. Set the Path: to the network printer. Be sure to check the option to [x] Reconnect at logon. So the settings will be remember when the workstation is restarted.

Note: if the workstation has a local printer attached to LPT1 then CFN should be re-installed to use a different port such as LPT2. Otherwise everything sent to the local printer on LPT1 will be captured and redirected to the network printer.

Note: this needs to be done only once on installation but for each workstation using CFN.

Is the "Path" the same for both stations? In other words, when I click on Capture Printer Port, should the identical item be in path for each station? Or just the second station and the first station have no path?
