* If everything is too light, try replacing the MICR toner cartridge on the printer. Also, many printers have a setting to adjust the printing darkness. Sometimes this is called contrast, print density, or toner saver.

* If only the text for the payee address and other text in Courior font is too light, try changing the font or making it bold. Edit the fnchkf1.des or fnchkf2.des files in the Navigator program folder. Change MAIN_F:Courier New to MAIN_F:Arial Bold and change MAIN_FS:12 to MAIN_FS:10.

* If the shading in the heading on the stub is too light, edit the fnchkf1.des or fnchkf2.des files in the Navigator program folder. Change STUB_TITLE_C:15658734 to STUB_TITLE_C:14737632. See http://finnav.com/CR/CheckFormColors.htm for the numeric codes for other shades of gray.
