Here are the limits for each field that appears on checks:

Navigator Data

Check number – Limited to 4 digits.

Memo – Limited to 26 characters. Enter on Transaction Activity screen.

Payee (name in Navigator) – Limited to 26 characters. Enter on Transaction Activity screen or Info for Name and Address screen. The Navigator payee name appears on the check stub and on the pay to the Order of line on the check itself. See also Payee Name below.

Payee Name (printed on check) – Limited to 40 characters. This name is printed above the payee address instead of the Navigator payee name. By default, this name is automatically the same as the Navigator payee name but you can change it on the Info for Name and Address screen.

Payee company and street – Limited to 40 characters. Enter on Info for Name and Address screen.

Payee city – Limited to 24 characters. Enter on Info for Name and Address screen.

Payee state – Limited to 2 characters. Enter on Info for Name and Address screen.

Payee Zip code – Limited to 10 characters. Enter on Info for Name and Address screen.

Payee phone number – Limited to 14 characters. Enter on Info for Name and Address screen.

CheckForm Settings screen

Payor Name & Name 2 – With default Arial 11 pt, about 45 characters fit. Any more print on top of the bank information.

Payor address & phone – With default Arial 8 pt, about 65 characters fit. Any more print on top of the bank information.

Bank name – With default Arial 11 pt, about 40 characters fit. Any more wrap to the left side of the check on top of the Payor name.

Bank address and code - With default Arial 8 pt, about 53 characters fit. Any more wrap to the left side of the check on top of the Payor name.

Text under signature lines – With default Courier New 7 pt, about 45 characters fit. Any more are truncated with ellipses (“…”).

Transit Code – Always 9 digits.

On Us Code – Limited to 25 characters including slashes.
