I just installed CheckForm 4.0. The MICR information prints on the bottom of the checks but the font is not MICR, just regular letters and numbers.[This message has been edited by David (edited 11-01-2007).]

CheckForm uses a soft font to create the MICR information that is printed on your checks. A plug-in font cartridge, DIMM, or SIMM chip or other hardware is not required. After installing CheckForm for the first time, you need to activate the MICR soft font. You need to perform this font activation for each workstation that uses the CheckForm program. To check if the MICR font is active: - Open the CheckForm Settings screen. See the topic Check Information on pages 15-16 of the CheckForm 4.0 Reference Guide.
- If a MICR font appears under the Transit Code and On-Us Code then it is active and you can skip the rest of these instructions. If it is an ordinary font with letters A and C, you need to activate the font.
To activate the MICR font: - Start on your Windows desktop.
- Select My Computer or Computer depending on your version of Windows.
- Select Local Disk (C:).
- Double-click on the Windows folder to open it. If you get a message that the files are hidden, select Show Files.
- Double-click on the Fonts folder to open it. This will refresh your font list and activate your new MICR font in Windows.
- Close the Fonts window.
- See the topic “Check Information” on pages 15-16 of the CheckForm 4.0 Reference Guide. If the special characters of the MICR font appear under the Transit Code and On-Us Code then the MICR font is active. If not, proceed to the next step.
- Close all applications and reboot the workstation.

If you recently did a Software Update (for CheckForm, not Navigator) and now nothing is printing where the MICR font should be, try rebooting your computer. Also, if you are having problems getting the MICR font and are using Windows Vista, please contact FNI Customer Service. - David FNI Technical Support
