I can't figure out how to tell CheckForm which printer to use. I'd like to use my special MICR printer for checks and a regular printer for Navigator reports.

If you have CheckForm 4.0, perform a Software Update to get Version 4.0.5 or higher. Starting with 4.0.5, you can specify which printer to use for checks. This is independent of the printer you choose for Navigator reports and other Windows printing.

To select a printer for checks:

  1. Start to print a check.
  2. Stop when you get to the large check preview screen (the one that appears just before the check is actually printed).
  3. Select Print Setup
  4. Select the printer you'd like to use for checks.
  5. Select OK.
Each user can chose a CheckForm printer independent of other users because this information is stored on the user's computer, not on the server.

Note that CheckForm will not "remember" other settings like paper size and which tray to use. Most printers will automatically recognize that the print job is legal size and select the tray that has the blank checkstock.

You can select CheckForm printer the same way in CheckForm 9.0.

Selecting the printer affects

  • Only the computer on which you make the selection. Other users's computers can select the same or a different printer.
  • All entities and all checking accounts (from that computer).
  • Both CheckForm 4.0 (for Navigator 8.2) and CheckForm 9.0 (for Navigator 9.0) if you are running both versions.
