Went on-line to Access5.1 for 11/30/05. Price for a test symbol was for 8/31/05. Then used FN8.2 menu for Access. Here is the message: Finnaccess.bat 11/3005 113005x051101-051130 file not found Program may not be installed

Hello Ethel,It sounds like you were able to start Access independent of Financial Navigator, but once you tried from within FN it gave you the error message. I suspect that Access may not be installed in the same folder as your current FN 8.2. Let me gather some information about your installation: 1. In Financial Navigator, what does it say on the Help | About Financial Navigator screen next to "FNWinn Exe:"? (e.g. "c:\program files\fn\fnwin82.exe") 2. In Navigator Access, what does it say on the Help | About Navigator Access... screen next to "Exe:"? (e.g. "c:\program files\fn\naccess.exe") Let me know what you find out. Thanks. ------------------------------ George Financial Navigator, Inc.

Hello Ethel,Navigator Access and Financial Navigator need to be in the same program foler. It sounds like your FN is on drive 'F' and Access is on drive 'C'. Reinstall your copy of Navigator Access to the same folder on drive F that FN is running from. This should solve the problem. ------------------------------------ George Financial Navigator, Inc.

I re-installed Access 5.1 to the F drive as suggested. Then I selected an entity, ran Access for 11/30/05. It is still giving prices from an earlier date, 8/31/05. In addition, instead of giving prices for all the symbols, it only gave them for the entity selected. This is really strange, as I ran it in October after FN8.2 was installed and it was fine. Nothing has changed on this end until this ongoing problem.

Hello Ethel,When you select an entity and select Investments | Navigator Access, does it load a list of all the symbols from all of your entities? Or is it just a partial list? -------------------------------------------- George Financial Navigator, Inc.

It only gave 27 prices out of appx 287 symbols. They are, however for the date I requested.

Hello Ethel,So all 287 symbols are displayed when you start Access, but you only get prices for 27 of them? Another way to verify how many symbols Access will try to download is to select View | Symbol file on the Access menu. Double check that all of your symbols (287) are there. Additionally, try pressing Ctrl+A when you start Access so that all of the symbols are selected/highlighted in blue. The bottom of the Access screen should read "287 of 287 symbols selected". Then click Retrive. Let me know what you find out. Thanks. -------------------------------------------- George Financial Navigator, Inc.

The reason only 27 symbols priced, was because that's all the file contained. I haven't a clue how the balance of nearly 200 symbols disappeared. Also, the same day I worked with an entity, I went back and was told it is being used by a different user. Went into Windows Explorer, the path is correct. We use 77 entities wiht no problems.

Hello Ethel,Each installation location of FN contains a symbol file (SYM2.PRN). If you installed FN 8.2 in a different folder than your previous FN version then your old symbol file did not get transferred over. If you still have your old FN 8.1 folder you can copy the SYM2.PRN file over to the new FN 8.2 folder. Prior to copying the file, you can open it in Notepad and make sure it contains the 200 symbols. If it does, then you can replace it with the SYM2.PRN file in your current FN 8.2 folder. Let me know if this solved your problem. Thank you. -------------------------------------------- George Financial Navigator, Inc.
