I am having a problem updating security prices. When I hit 'Retrieve', I am not given the chance to save it. I simply get an unidentified screen with the right prices on it and the proper date, but I am not given the opportunity to save it apr2.prn as has been the procedure previously. Then when I hit 'access prices to update securities', it seems to update, but the prices on the 'securities portfolio analysis' report are only the old prices.

This happens on Win XP machines with updated versions of IE. The same problems occurs on the Yahoo site to download prices.

It does not happen on Win 98 machine.

The solution is to click on Retrieve.
When the prices open in a the window, then
Right click on prices windows.

Select View Source. Notepad opens with prices.

Select File | Save as and save to find Apr2.prn in the FN program folder.

If you click on View Source and nothing happened then look to see if the Temporary Internet File folder is full.

If so then delete the Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer (Tools | Internet options | Delete Files) and try again.

There has been an update to StockWeb as of March 9, 2004. Please use the following steps to retrieve your security prices through StockWeb:

  1. Transmit your security symbols in StockWeb as usual.
  2. Right-click on Retrieve and select Save Target As...
  3. On the Save As screen, specify the file name as 'apr2.prn' and be sure that you are saving the file in the FN program folder. (The default file name is apr2.csv so you can simply change the .csv file extension to .prn)
