my check register for the month of sept ends at a negative amount (which i believe is incorrect) but when i open up oct it is negative 10 times that! what is going on? i have already tried the utilities function (test & correct files --> all of the above)and it did not correct this problem. i have many accounts set up and this is the only one with this problem. frustrated...please help!

When running Test & Correct, click “Yes” to the prompt “Are your data files backed up?” If you say no, then the system will not check the balances for inconsistencies.

If you still have a problem with the balances, please elaborate. I understand your ending September balance is negative, which is possible. What is wrong with October, is the beginning balance the same as the September ending balance? It should be. Did you make any quarter end entries that affected this journal?

Thanks,

Matthew

The differences in the account balances can be caused by many things. We here at Financial Navigator are constantly improving on the program to eliminate such errors.

Thanks,

Matthew
