I sold a partial security lot. Everything worked and seemed to be ok., except the lot did not appear on Schedule D. Finally I narrowed it down to the fact that the partial sales lot was not created at all because the name of the lot was too long. My experience has been that the system shortenes the name in order to create the _S#1 lot. This time it did not create it at all.A feature that warns or makes it impossible for the user to create a name that is too long would be a much appreciated improvement.
