i searched on help and could not find the answer. how do you create a new category under the chart of accounts? there is a hierarchy of accts. i know how to add an account under the 3rd tier of accts listed. but i need to add a new category and then add a account under it. how is this done? thanks.

Hello,

To add a new category to your Custom COA, you need to go to the Master COA. In the Master COA you view all the groups and categories. Chose a category that is not being used, and rename it, then add an account to that category. If you do not add the account to the new catagory it will not appear in the Custom COA. Once the account has been added to the new catagory it will appear in your Custom COA.
