I have some municipal bonds that were in the wrong category on the Chart of Accounts. I fixed that, but should they be formatted as bonds or common/preferred? They are shares in a municipal bond mutual fund, but are traded like stocks. They do not act like a normal bond which as accrued interest receivable and a maturity date, so I left them formatted as stocks.

I'd leave them as stocks. The Format Type mostly determines what labels are used on the A&L screen. Note that the "number of shares" for bonds changes to "number of $1,000 bonds" so make sure the quantities are correct. Same for "price per share" vs. "bond price per 100"
