I did a SSB download. When trying to import into BL I get the message "no data found for this account". I checked my accounts and the number entered in BL matches the number on the SSB download. However, that number is not the account number referenced on the client's statement. Should I contact SSB ?

If the account numbers do not match then somewhere the data is wrong.
Email me the SSB file that was download and we can determine what account number is in the file.
Does the account number contain any special symbols such as a dash. If so then try it without the dash.

1) The data from Smith Barney is downloaded in a zip file(xxx.zip). First the file needs to be unzipped using some utility program such as Winzip. Now there will be a transaction file for each day such as tr011120.trn, tr011121.trn, ... tr011130.trn for Nov 20th thru 30th for 2001.

2) In BrokerLink, on the select BrokerLink File screen, select Salomon Smith Barney. Enter both the Transaction Date and To Date such as Nov 20 01 and Nov 30 01. This will set the files to use. Now select Load to load the data.
Alternatively select the "To date" field and select browse to select the file and select Open instead of entering the date. Now select the "Transaction Date" field and select browse to select the file for the beginning date and select open.

Note if the Transaction date is set first then it will load the file just for that one day. If this happens, then just select File |Open to return to the Select BrokerLink File screen and set the "To Date".

Now once the dates are set then all the files between the date range will be read.
