Yes, select the account any way that you like. Type in account name and press enter. Enter the account number in the account number column. For investments to the same account such as reinvestments or monthly contributions, setup a payee with the account in the automatic entry. But of course you can always pop up the list and scroll down to the account. Or type the name of the account in the account list and it will search for that account.
I like to type a few chars / and a few characters of the qualifer and press enter. It either finds it or pops up the account list close to the account wanted. Then scroll down to the account in the list and press enter. (Never touch the mouse.) I find this much faster. The key is name the accounts and qualifier consistently so 3 chars/3 chars will find most accounts. The rest of the account name is just for description.
But do whatever is faster and easier for you. There is more one right way. Sometimes it depends on if your hand is on the mouse or on the keyboard. Constantly moving back and forth will slow down entry. Most all functions can be done all with the keyboard or all with the mouse.
